Dave Adams

I have been an outdoor instructor for over 20 years but I first started in the outdoors long before that, my brother first dragged me along to the local canoe club when I was 11, after the initial reluctance to capsize I’ve never looked back. My first job in the industry was when I was 24, I left my job on a dairy farm in west Cumbria and found myself in France 2 weeks later. After various jobs around the UK, I’ve moved to Scotland in 1999, and for the past 10 years I have lived in Glasgow. I moved here to join The Outward Bound Trust to make the transition from an outdoor residential centre to working with young people in their home environment, to understand fully what issues they face, and how outdoor learning can have a huge impact on their everyday life.
